aboutFor years I have been actively documenting my life and what is around me. My grandmother's love of photography and her need to photograph our family inspired me to pick up a camera and do the same. I began photographing after my dad passed away and I hadn't yet made any pictures of him. I became obsessed with photographing family and documenting the people I was close to before it was too late. My first project focused on my grandmother and her antique shop. During this project I became fascinated with the idea of 'stuff.' My pictures today represent the spaces we inhabit, the objects with which we surround ourselves as well as the irony of human-altered landscapes. I'm looking very closely at the little things we encounter, the minor details we stumble upon everyday but don't really think about, and questioning their significance. My photographs focus on the personal, the familiar, and the ordinary. |
